Josh Knight Creates A Love Ballad For “Wings”

“You flew a little close to the sun, no wonder your wings are gone …”

Wings is simply a self-written R&B track with the combination of a free beat on Youtube. His soulful voice makes this R&B song, into a neo-soul love storyline. The lyrics focus on Knight and a mystery girl — his wingless angel.  He wants to show her a good time and is confident in supplying all her needs. Wings is essentially a vintage love ballad.

“My main goal as a musician is to relay messages through my words that will reach people in their hearts and souls. I want them to have a great and visceral body experience from the beat and background of the track itself. I want to inspire people to follow their passions and use them to try and change the world”. – Josh Knight

Josh Knight is a recent college graduate with a degree in Biological Psychology from a UC. After soul searching and finishing school, he decided that there was a passion for music. He’s currently signed to Capital California, an independent label located in California. When it comes to writing lyrics, he sees it as an “incredible, fun challenge”, where he strives to create a congruent and constant theme for each song. A majority of his topics and imagery are based on personal experiences, with imagined circumstances. Some of his influences include old school soul legends Marvin Gaye, Boyz II Men and Jagged Edge. Knight sees John Legend as a major singing style influence. He defines his music as being soulful harmony with hip-hop lyricism and groove.

If you like Wings, peep his two other tracks produced by Roy Erez.
